The POWER of POLES is a new unique induction course using the latest techniques, poles and teaching methods – whether you want to use poles for fitness fun or performance.
The Learn to Nordic Walk course is suitable for all levels and is a structured teaching programme taught over 4 one hour sessions. Your qualified Instructor will help you understand your current level of fitness and empower you to Nordic walk at the correct intensity in order to get the results you want.
The fundamentals of Nordic Walking technique. Gaining forward propulsion from the poles by engaging the correct upper body muscles, understanding correct gait and co-ordination.
Mastering handgrip and use of the pole straps in order to develop technique. Adapting the body position and pole angles for walking up and down hills.
Adding more speed through improved technique, understanding how your body reacts to exercise and learning how to stay within your comfort zone.
Improving posture and understanding how to use technique, distance, speed and terrain to constantly ensure you get the most out of your Nordic Walking!

If you feel you would like to work on your fitness levels, improve mobility, balance and flexibility before embarking or joining a Nordic Walking group – a gentle wellbeing class is a great way to get your body moving without the worry that you may not be fit or fast enough to keep up with others.
These sessions incorporate a gentle walk with poles but do not venture too far from the start point.
